Today is World Bee Day, and to celebrate, we want to tell you more about our incredible bee health and beauty products.

When it comes to beehive health products, there are 4 compounds with outstanding and proven health benefits for humans.
They are:
· Raw honey
· Propolis
· Royal Jelly
· Bee Pollen
Bees make these products for specific purposes inside the hive. They are used to feed the colony, raise the queen bee, to keep the hive hygienic and to protect the hive from invading pathogens (bacteria, viruses, bugs etc.).
How do bee products do all that?
With incredibly rich and diverse nutrient profiles.
Propolis, Royal Jelly, Honey and Bee Pollen each have different compositions and perform different functions, but generally, their range of health benefits are from:
· Extremely high vitamin and mineral content
· Concentrated antioxidant compounds
· Anti-inflammatory compounds
· Antibacterial, Antiviral and Antifungal activity
These incredible health qualities have made bee products popular health remedies and very much prized - even sacred - among cultures dating all the way back to ancient Egypt.
That's why we use these incredible natural actives in our specialty skincare and health supplement range.
On your skin…
The anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antibacterial qualities of Propolis, Royal Jelly and Honey make these natural ingredients a wonderful way to clean your skin, and keep unhealthy bacteria, fungi and infections at bay. It’s a formula for clean, clear and well-protected skin.
The anti-inflammatory activity, vitamins and enzymes in propolis and honey make their use in skincare beneficial for healing wounds and blemishes, reducing scar potential and minimising irritation and redness.
Concentrated vitamins, antioxidants and fatty acids in Propolis, Royal Jelly and honey further support healthy and beautiful looking skin by assisting tissue structure and repair, reducing oxidative damage and increasing barrier protection and moisture.
See why we love them?

That’s why Propolis & Royal Jelly (with a little honey too) are the key natural additives in our Essential Basics range. The range includes hair shampoo & conditioner, face and body cleanser and very soon, our Super C Serum; adding Vitamin C to Propolis; an ultra-boost for mature skin.
In your body…
The same anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity combined with high vitamin, mineral and flavonoid content make these products outstanding for your health too.
Propolis
Propolis is a rich source of vitamins and minerals. Its vitamin profile includes B1, B2, B6, C, and E, while its broad mineral content offers magnesium, calcium, potassium, sodium, copper, zinc, manganese, and iron (Rao Pasupuleti). Phewf - that's a lot, right?
That’s why Propolis is a superfood. It’s like a natural multi vitamin AND mineral supplement in one.
When vitamins and minerals occur together in nature, they are often in combinations that assist their absorption and use in the body. In Propolis, Mother Nature made the perfect elixir. Adding to this, Propolis has a wide variety of antioxidant flavonoids; 12 that we know of!
Literature reviews show Propolis is beneficial in gut health, oral health, immune function, allergy support and heart health. There are many studies showing anti-tumor activity also (Rao Pasupuleti, 2017, Braakhuis, 2019).
Honey
Like Propolis, honey has benefits for digestive and gut health as well as being useful for throat infections like strep throat. It has even been shown as useful in cardiovascular health and metabolic disease (Rao Pasupuleti, 2017, Braakhuis, 2019).

Aside from these health benefits, these naturally occurring superfoods can provide a huge boost of healthy nutrients that most of us simply don’t get from our diet alone.
At Chalmers Dale, we have Propolis in various forms and strengths; from liquids that can be applied topically or gargled, to mid-range and very high-concentrate premium propolis capsules.
Our honeys are the most well-researched and healthiest of all – Manuka Honey.
